Kellerbier was created in 1516 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot (purity law). 1516 Kellerbier has a full body, a pleasant caramel flavour, and a rich amber colour. The bottom-fermenting yeast during the extended maturation period, giving the beer a slightly opaque cloudiness that contributes to its distinctive appearance. The balanced hop note perfectly rounds out the flavour. 1516 Kellerbier is crowned with a solid head of finely structured foam, and a refreshingly fruity aroma invites further exploration which is frequently paired with grilled foods, roasts, and cheeses.
